Job Description

The Opportunity: Are you ready to take control of your projects, make real-time decisions, and see your work come to life without layers of red tape?

This opportunity is with a smaller, privately held engineering firm where you have the freedom to lead — not just follow a process.

We’re seeking a Professional Engineer (PE) experienced in Water Resource Hydraulic Modeling who wants more ownership over their work and direct influence on project outcomes.

You’ll join a team with a strong backlog of private and public development projects, from 1-acre commercial sites to 3,000-acre master-planned communities — valued anywhere from $50,000 to several million dollars.

Key responsibilities and duties

  • Design and planning: Create designs for water and wastewater treatment plants, collection systems (like pipelines), and storage facilities.
  • Project management: Oversee projects from conception through completion, including budget and schedule management.
  • Technical analysis: Perform detailed engineering calculations, conduct hydraulic modeling, and prepare technical documents.
  • Regulatory compliance: Ensure designs and projects comply with all environmental regulations and permit requirements.
  • Collaboration: Work with a variety of stakeholders, including municipal officials, clients, contractors, geologists, and environmental scientists.
  • Problem-solving: Respond to and solve technical and project-related issues that arise during the design or construction phase.
  • Site visits: Conduct field work to inspect existing infrastructure and construction sites.

Typical qualifications and skills

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or a related engineering field is required. An advanced degree is often preferred.
  • License: A Professional Engineer (PE) license is typically required.
  • Experience: A minimum of several years of experience in water and wastewater engineering is necessary, often with a focus on design and construction.
  • Technical skills: Proficiency in engineering software like AutoCAD, hydraulic modeling software, and standard office programs (Word, Excel) is crucial.
  • Soft skills: Strong communication (written and verbal), leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills are essential.

Join a Firm Where You Can Truly Lead. If you’re tired of being just another cog in a big machine, this is your chance to make a real impact — on your projects, your team, and your career.📩
