GPAC is partnering with a highly-regarded PK-8th school in Minneapolis to identify their next Middle School Math Teacher.

This school is seeking a candidate for this full time position who is committed to helping all students use math as a way to understand and improve our world.

Position Summary 

The Middle School Math Teacher will provide a learning experience that is culturally relevant, challenging and fun. Candidates should be driven to prepare children for the future by helping them build confidence and a strong sense of self-worth.

Responsibilities

  - Teach classes as assigned, providing effective and professional classroom instruction, assessment, and management.

  - Design and implement curriculum and instruction consistent with the mission, values, and standards established with the academic program.

  - Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and on enhancing instructional practices and strategies.

  - Establish effective communications and relationships with students and parents.

  - Exhibit a growth mindset about teaching practices and work toward professional goals and development.

  - Develop and maintain professional, collaborative, and collegial relationships with faculty and staff, as well as with community partners to the benefit of students and classes.

  - Participate in required non-classroom activities, including Back to School Night(s), parent/student conferences, retreats, faculty and meetings, field trips, and special activities and performance events.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university

  LICENSURE:

  - Option 1: Current Minnesota teaching license in content area / grade levels (preferred)

  - Option 2: Licensure in other grade / content area or state and willingness to obtain licensure for this position

Desired Skills and Traits

  - Experience teaching in an urban public school or charter school setting

  - At least two years of experience with a proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom

  - Commitment to professional growth and personal development

  - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting with high expectations
