Civil Design Engineer

A prominent civil engineering firm known for its expertise in land development and site improvement design is seeking a Civil Design Engineer to join their team.

The ideal candidates will join a multidisciplinary team that supports everything from initial planning and feasibility, through design, permitting, and construction phase.

Responsibilities:

  • Support site layout and grading plan development for residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional land development projects.
  • Assist with hydrology and stormwater design, including stormwater management systems and erosion control plans.
  • Coordinate permitting efforts, including NPDES, and other local/state environmental approvals.
  • Prepare utility design and lot grading plans to ensure efficient, compliant site development.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and environmental impact assessments as needed.
  • Collaborate with senior designers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure design constructability and regulatory compliance.
  • Help produce technical deliverables including construction documents, cost estimates, and project submittals.
  • Participate in site visits, stakeholder coordination, and construction observation, as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in land development or civil site design.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and familiarity with stormwater analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of land development workflows – including zoning, grading, utilities, and permitting processes.
  • Excellent writing and oral presentation skills.
  • Ability to think innovatively and develop unique and creative design solutions.
