Remote Litigation Legal Assistant – General Litigation & Employment Defense (California)

About the Opportunity:
A top-ranked Los Angeles litigation firm is hiring a Legal Assistant / Legal Secretary with 3–5 years of experience supporting attorneys in high-stakes general litigation and employment defense. This role supports four litigation attorneys with a desk split 50/50 between employment and general defense matters. This is a hybrid-remote position unless the candidate prefers fully in-office.

  • Start fully in-office for 2–3 weeks (DTLA or Manhattan Beach office), then transition to hybrid remote (1 day/week in-office)

Compensation & Benefits:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and file legal documents in California state and federal courts

  • Draft, edit, and format pleadings, discovery, and correspondence

  • Create tables of contents and authorities for legal filings

  • Maintain litigation calendar using docketing software

  • Coordinate with attorneys, clients, opposing counsel, and court staff

What You Bring:

  • 3–5 years of litigation experience as a Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary

  • Experience supporting busy attorneys in employment defense and/or general litigation

  • Familiarity with e-filing systems (state and federal) and litigation procedure

  • Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe, and legal calendaring tools

  • Strong organizational and formatting skills, including table creation
