A reputable Chicago-area engineering firm is seeking an experienced Mechanical Technical Director to guide technical excellence, develop engineers, and take a meaningful role in client relationships and firm growth.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Lead the mechanical department and influence its direction.
Guide HVAC and mechanical building systems design across diverse projects.
Own technical standards, design reviews, and QA/QC.
Mentor engineers and strengthen the team’s capabilities.
Serve as a trusted technical advisor to clients.
Collaborate with firm leadership on project delivery and business development.

WHAT YOU BRING
15+ years of mechanical/MEP consulting experience.
Professional Engineer license; Illinois PE preferred.
Strong expertise in HVAC and mechanical building systems.
Experience leading projects, reviewing designs, and mentoring engineers.
Confidence managing client relationships and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
A commitment to technical quality and practical, well-executed design.
