CDL Class B Driver – Lumber & Building Materials
Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused CDL Class B Driver to join our team. This position is responsible for delivering lumber and building materials to customers in a timely and professional manner while ensuring safe operation of company vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to assist with loading, unloading, and material handling as needed.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a CDL Class B vehicle to deliver lumber and building materials to residential and commercial job sites.
- Load, unload, and secure materials for transport.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move products in the yard and during deliveries.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs.
- Verify delivery paperwork and ensure accurate order fulfillment.
- Maintain compliance with all DOT regulations and company safety policies.
- Provide professional customer service during deliveries.
- Assist with warehouse and yard duties when deliveries are not scheduled.
- Maintain a clean and organized truck and work area.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class B license.
- Clean driving record with a strong commitment to safety.
- Previous experience driving delivery trucks, preferably in the lumber, building materials, or construction industry.
- Forklift experience required; forklift certification preferred (or willingness to obtain certification).
- Ability to lift, carry, and move building materials weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
Preferred Experience
- Lumber yard, building materials, or construction supply experience.
- Experience delivering to residential and commercial construction sites.
- Familiarity with DOT regulations and delivery documentation.
