Position: Shop Foreman
Location: Lake Elsinore, CA
Position Summary:
The shop Foreman will be responsible for overseeing fabrication, production, and logistics operations within a manufacturing facility. The company specializes in the fabrication, design, and construction of cold storage facilities. Prior experience in the manufacturing of refrigeration doors and insulated sheet metal, and foam panels is highly desirable.
Essential Leadership and Job Functions:
- Oversee and lead the fabrication/production floor employees to ensure the workplace is safe, employee engagement is high, and facility is clean.
- Lead the crew by maintaining a positive attitude and demeanor and setting an example as an efficient worker.
- Ensure all safety rules are followed and that all safety issues on the floor are addressed.
- Motivate the crew to work safely.
- Work closely with our safety team leader to ensure training and daily safety tasks have been completed.
- Ensure proper technical training has been completed and documented will all employees when training for a new role.
- Ensure new employees learn and understand company policies and procedures.
- Walk facility daily to ensure hazards have been identified and addressed.
- Work closely with fabrication department to drive performance and improve process when needed.
- Identify cost reduction projects and reduce waste.
- Ensure current equipment is maintained for peak performance and safety.
- Monitor facility daily to ensure all housekeeping and equipment PM’s have been completed.
- Supervise staff and organize and monitor workflows.
Technical and Performance Requirements:
- Key floor leader to ensure all products produced are of the highest quality.
- Monitor daily quality and ensure all required documents for our Intertek certification have been completed.
- Ensure fabrication department meets or exceeds company expectations.
- Perform and document quality checks.
- Works closely with sales and construction teams to ensure orders are on time, correct, and produced with highest quality.
- Create and adhere to daily schedules.
- Work closely with production manager to control costs.
- Identify and cross-train key employees for lead positions.
- Meet deadlines and maintain open communication.
Experience Requirements:
- 3 to 5 years of experience with production, logistics, and manufacturing.
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing procedures, powered industrial equipment, and OSHA guidelines.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees, customers, and vendors.
- Ability to document and report effectively.
- Safety Knowledge, OSHA 30 Certification preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office platforms.
Physical Requirements:
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of objects and materials of up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk up to a minimum of 8 hours a day.
- Combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
- Some tasks may require the ability to perceive sounds and visuals cues and/or signals.
