A leading heavy civil construction firm specializing in earthwork, sitework, and underground utilities projects. Seeking a skilled Senior Estimator to join our team and contribute to accurate and competitive project bids.
The Senior Estimator will be responsible for preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for earthwork, sitework, and underground utilities construction projects. Reporting to the Estimating Manager, this role involves analyzing project plans, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring bids align with company standards and client expectations.
Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for earthwork, sitework, and underground utilities projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
Analyze project plans, specifications, and contract documents to identify scope and requirements.
Perform quantity takeoffs and develop pricing models based on project data.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information and validate estimates.
Utilize estimating software and tools to streamline processes and ensure accuracy.
Present estimates to management and participate in bid reviews and negotiations.
Monitor industry trends, material costs, and labor rates to maintain competitive pricing.
Support preconstruction teams with value engineering and cost-saving strategies.
Maintain organized records of estimates, assumptions, and supporting documentation.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in estimating earthwork, sitework, and underground utilities construction projects.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and processes related to earthwork and utilities.
Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid, Agtek, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and geotechnical reports.
Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Ability to manage multiple estimates and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
