 Assistant Superintendent – Healthcare Construction

A well-established general contractor specializing in healthcare and institutional projects is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to join their growing team. This is a hands-on, field-based position supporting ground-up and renovation projects in the $1M–$25M range.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of healthcare construction requirements, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Superintendent with daily site coordination, scheduling, and subcontractor oversight

  • Assist in maintaining project safety standards and site cleanliness

  • Conduct quality control inspections to ensure compliance with plans, specs, and infection control standards (ICRA)

  • Help manage site documentation, RFIs, and progress reporting

  • Coordinate with project managers, architects, and owners to ensure smooth project flow

  • Participate in subcontractor meetings and field problem-solving

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in commercial or healthcare construction

  • Strong knowledge of field operations, safety compliance, and construction sequencing

  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specs, and shop drawings

  • Familiarity with ICRA standards, medical facility procedures, and healthcare environments preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Procore, or similar project management software

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • OSHA 30 and/or ICRA certifications a plus
