Job Description

Position Title: Lab Pack Chemist

Overview:
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and safety-focused Lab Pack Chemist to join their environmental services team. This role is essential in ensuring proper identification, packaging, transportation, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous materials in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, categorize, and segregate hazardous and non-hazardous wastes for proper disposal.

  • Perform lab packing of chemical wastes according to DOT, RCRA, EPA, and OSHA requirements.

  • Prepare, package, and label drums, lab packs, and bulk containers for transportation.

  • Operate company vehicles (CDL preferred) for transporting hazardous materials to approved disposal facilities.

  • Complete all required manifests, labels, and documentation with accuracy.

  • Conduct site audits for environmental compliance.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with company policies and procedures.

  • Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams to coordinate services.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (or willingness to obtain).

  • Knowledge of DOT, RCRA, and EPA hazardous waste regulations.

  • CDL Class B with Hazmat endorsement preferred.

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment.
