Job Description

CNC Machinist

We are a growing, family-owned metalworking company that rebuilds, retrofits, services, and manufactures machinery such as mills and grinders. As our business continues to expand, we’re looking for a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team.

Primary Duties

  • Set up and operate Mazak CNC equipment, including vertical and horizontal machining centers as well as turning centers.

  • Create and modify programs directly at the machine using Mazatrol conversational controls or similar systems.

  • Adjust and fine-tune G-code for improved performance and accuracy.

  • Handle all aspects of production runs, including workpiece loading, tooling setup, and quality/tolerance monitoring.

  • Perform regular inspections and basic preventative maintenance to keep machines running efficiently.

  • Work closely with engineering, quality, and remanufacturing teams to ensure projects meet specifications and deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience operating Mazak machines, with strong preference for familiarity with Mazatrol conversational programming (e.g., Smooth G, Smooth Ez, Integrex).

  • Ability to create and edit programs directly at the control panel.

  • Strong knowledge of G-code and CNC operations, with capability to troubleshoot and make manual edits as needed.

  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and using precision measuring instruments.

  • Committed to safety, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in a small, collaborative environment.

What We Offer

  • Steady day shift schedule with opportunities for overtime.

  • Exposure to a variety of Mazak equipment, including retrofit and modernization projects for legacy machines.

  • A supportive, family-oriented workplace that values input, encourages growth, and invests in skill development.

  • Competitive pay based on experience, plus benefits.
