Patent Agent

My client is a nationally respected law firm with a strong patent prosecution practice supporting technology companies working at the forefront of wireless systems, electronics, software, and emerging standards. This role is well-suited for a Patent Agent who wants substantive technical work, exposure to sophisticated portfolios, and the ability to grow into greater autonomy over time.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and prosecute U.S. patent applications across electrical, software, and computer-implemented technologies

  • Collaborate with inventors, engineers, and attorneys on complex patent matters

  • Support standards-related patents and post-grant work as needed

  • Build toward increased responsibility, client interaction, and optional leadership opportunities

Ideal Background

  • 2+ years of patent preparation and prosecution experience

  • USPTO-registered Patent Agent

  • Technical degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field

  • Strong technical writing skills and interest in long-term career development
