Senior Estimator – Heavy Civil and Geotechnical Construction
Our client is a leading provider of heavy civil and geotechnical construction services, specializing in a wide range of solutions, including piling (d-pile, micropile, caissons, soldier pile, etc.), shoring, foundation drilling, and excavation support. Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Senior Estimator to join our client’s team. The ideal candidate will have 3-10 years of experience in the heavy civil and deep foundation industry, with expertise in estimating projects involving piling, shoring, foundation drilling, and excavation support. The Senior Estimator will play a key role in providing accurate, competitive, and detailed cost estimates for projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed cost estimates for heavy civil and geotechnical construction projects, including piling, shoring, foundation drilling, and excavation support.
- Perform material and labor take-offs, assess equipment needs, and estimate project timelines.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure estimates align with project scope and specifications.
- Review project drawings, specifications, and site conditions to provide the most cost-effective solutions.
- Prepare and submit bids for projects, including detailed proposals and cost breakdowns.
- Manage multiple estimations simultaneously, ensuring timely and accurate submission of all bids.
- Analyze risks and provide solutions for project challenges, helping to reduce cost overruns.
- Work with the team to continuously improve estimating processes and best practices.
- Provide mentorship and support to junior estimators as needed.
Qualifications:
- 3-10 years of experience in estimating within the heavy civil and deep foundation industry (including piling, shoring, foundation drilling, and excavation support).
- Strong knowledge of deep foundation techniques, including d-piles, micropiles, caissons, soldier piles, and related services.
- Proficient in estimating software and tools.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work under tight deadlines.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base Salary: Commensurate with experience.
- 401k: 3.5% employer contribution (regardless of employee contribution).
- Health Benefits: Employer-covered health benefits.
- Year-End Bonus: 5-10% of salary based on company profitability.
