Project Engineer – Commercial Construction

A well-established and reputable Commercial General Contractor in the Madison, WI area is seeking a Project Engineer to support the planning and execution of complex commercial construction projects across industrial, healthcare, education, corporate, and institutional sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Project Managers and Superintendents with daily project coordination

  • Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and submittals

  • Track and manage RFIs, change orders, and project documentation

  • Assist in subcontractor coordination, scheduling, and cost tracking

  • Maintain accurate records for project progress and reporting

  • Collaborate with field teams to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency

  • Communicate effectively with owners, architects, engineers, and trade partners

  • Participate in meetings, progress updates, and closeout procedures


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field

  • 1–5 years of experience in commercial construction (internships included)

  • Strong understanding of construction processes, drawings, and materials

  • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills

  • Team-oriented, self-motivated, and eager to take initiative
