Job Description

This rapidly growing company is seeking a Controls Manager to manage all engineering activities within the Controls department including resource loading, innovation, design, standards, procedures, product development, implementation, and testing.  The Controls Manager will report directly to the Plant Manager.

Primary Duties:

  • Responsible for reviewing customer specifications and developing technical solutions for all control systems.

  • The CM is responsible for the design of all control panels, programming of panel controllers, testing of control panels, technical support and field start-ups.

  • This role translates system requirements into defined controls engineering and prepares accurate cost estimates for assembly, electrical hardware, programming, testing, integration, and commissioning.

  • Define, develop, and implement project execution processes that employ repeatable systems for consistency in excellence.
  • Provide direction and guidance on control system architecture, documentation and system software architecture.

  • Lead the department in developing a culture of sustained and continuous improvement practices.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field.

  • Proven work experience as a Controls Manager or similar role.

  • Experience with building system programming (i.e., Robert Shaw, Landis & Gyr, CSI, Johnson Controls, Carrier).
  • Strong management skills, ability to make quick decisions, and knowledge of various production processes.

  • Ability to manage performance and oversee daily operations.

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical sills.  
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to liaise effectively with suppliers, customers, and internal staff at all levels.

  • Attention to detail is crucial to ensure accurate production output and maintain high standards of safety, quality, delivery and cost.
