A highly regarded law firm in Omaha, Nebraska, is seeking a skilled and motivated Labor and Employment Defense Attorney to join our team. Position Overview:

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced attorney with 3-8 years of experience in labor and employment law to support our growing practice. This position offers an exciting opportunity to handle complex legal matters, work with a talented team, and contribute to the firm’s continued success.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in labor and employment disputes, including wrongful termination, wage and hour violations, discrimination, harassment, and other employment-related matters.
  • Provide counsel to clients on various aspects of employment law, including compliance with federal and state labor regulations.
  • Draft legal documents, including employment contracts, severance agreements, settlement agreements, and employee handbooks.
  • Conduct depositions, discovery, and pre-trial motions.
  • Participate in settlement negotiations and handle litigation matters, from case inception through trial.
  • Stay updated on labor and employment law trends, regulations, and case law developments.
  • Manage a caseload efficiently while providing high-level service to clients.
  • Mentor junior attorneys and collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative legal strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • 3-8 years of experience practicing labor and employment law, preferably with a focus on defense.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state labor and employment laws.
  • Experience in handling complex litigation and working with corporate clients.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Admitted to the Nebraska State Bar (or ability to be admitted promptly)
