A respected and growing structural steel fabricator and erector in the Cincinnati Metro Area is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Estimator to join its team. This individual will play a key role in securing new business by preparing accurate and competitive estimates for structural steel fabrication and erection projects across commercial, industrial, manufacturing, institutional, and specialty construction markets.

Review project drawings, specifications, bid documents, and contract requirements
Perform quantity takeoffs for structural steel and miscellaneous metals packages
Prepare detailed estimates for fabrication, erection, equipment, labor, freight, and subcontracted work
Solicit, evaluate, and analyze vendor and subcontractor quotations
Develop conceptual, budgetary, negotiated, and hard-bid estimates
Identify project risks, constructability concerns, and value-engineering opportunities
Prepare bid proposals, clarifications, and scope reviews
Coordinate with project managers, detailers, engineers, fabrication personnel, and field operations throughout the estimating process
Attend pre-bid meetings and participate in project turnover meetings upon award
Maintain estimating databases, historical cost information, and productivity metrics
Develop and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, owners, and industry partners
3+ years of estimating experience within the structural steel industry preferred
Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection processes
Experience estimating both structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects preferred
Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings
Experience performing quantity takeoffs and preparing detailed cost estimates
Proficiency with Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and estimating software
Knowledge of AISC standards and industry best practices
Strong communication, organizational, and negotiation skills
Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
Base Salary: $100,000 – $150,000 DOE
