Job Description

Project Manager / Senior Project Manager – Healthcare Construction

Location: Remote (Travel Required | Proximity to Sacramento Preferred)
Compensation: $120K–$165K Base + Bonus + Expenses Paid
Employment Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire

Overview:

A nationally recognized healthcare organization is seeking a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to oversee the construction and renovation of medical facilities across Northern California. This is a remote-first role offering complete control over your travel schedule.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in the field — not just managing processes from behind a desk. We’re looking for someone who can build, who recognizes construction issues on site, and who leads with experience and accountability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee ground-up and renovation construction projects for medical/healthcare facilities
  • Serve as the Owner’s Representative from pre-construction through closeout
  • Issue RFPs, manage bidding, and lead contractor selection
  • Actively identify and resolve construction challenges in the field
  • Ensure safety, quality, and compliance—especially in occupied healthcare environments
  • Manage budgets, schedules, and on-site execution
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external contractors
  • Maintain high standards of infection control and patient safety

What You Bring:

  • 7–10 years of construction experience, including recent work in a PM or owner’s rep role
  • Demonstrated ability to build, not just oversee — you can walk a job site and spot issues before they become problems
  • Experience with medical/healthcare facility construction
  • Familiarity with renovating occupied spaces, including storefronts and cabinetry work
  • Background working with specialty contractors or mid-sized general contractors
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • CHC accreditation (Certified Healthcare Constructor) or ASHE credentials bonus
  • Degree in Construction Management or a related field preferred
  • Based near Sacramento or able to travel regularly
  • Proximity to an airport is a plus

Why Join:

  • Remote-first flexibility — full autonomy over travel and schedule
  • No micromanagement — work with a leadership team that trusts you to perform
  • Path to leadership — strong growth trajectory into a Regional Director role
  • Competitive compensation package with bonus and full travel reimbursement
  • Make a real impact in the healthcare construction space
