About the Opportunity:
GPAC is proud to be partnered with a leading metal fabrication company that specializes in producing high-precision components for industries such as food production, aerospace, defense, medical, etc. Our client is seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist with strong experience in both milling and lathe operations to join their growing team.

This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity with a well-established company known for its commitment to quality, safety, and employee development.


Position Overview:
The CNC Machinist will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC equipment, including mills and lathes, with a focus on tight-tolerance metal components. The ideal candidate will have solid experience with G-code programming, conversational controls, and a deep understanding of metal fabrication processes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, operate, and adjust CNC milling and lathe machines with minimal supervision.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and G-code programs.
  • Utilize conversational controls (such as Haas, Mazak, or Fanuc) for programming and setup.
  • Ensure precision and quality using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and optimize machining parameters.
  • Work with various metals in a fabrication environment.
  • Maintain safety and cleanliness standards in the work area.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production and quality goals.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of hands-on CNC machining experience (milling and lathe).
  • Proficiency in G-code and conversational control systems.
  • Strong understanding of metal fabrication and machining principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
  • Familiarity with standard measuring tools and inspection techniques.
  • Technical training or machining education preferred.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Background in CAD/CAM software usage is a plus.
  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced, precision-focused shop.
