Job Description

We are currently seeking a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) with 6+ years of experience to join a reputable and growing civil engineering and surveying firm. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of land development, transportation, utility, and municipal projects while also contributing to the growth and mentorship of the survey team.

The ideal candidate is a licensed surveyor with strong technical knowledge, project management skills, and a desire to take ownership of both field and office operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of land surveying projects from proposal through delivery

  • Oversee field crews, provide technical guidance, and review deliverables for quality and accuracy

  • Prepare and review boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, right-of-way, and construction staking surveys

  • Coordinate with engineers, developers, contractors, and municipal agencies

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations

  • Mentor junior staff and support professional development within the team

  • Assist with business development and client relationships as needed

Qualifications:

  • Active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license (or ability to obtain in [state])

  • 6+ years of progressive surveying experience

  • Strong understanding of land records, plats, easements, and legal descriptions

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and modern survey field equipment (GPS, total stations, data collectors)

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally to project sites
