A dynamic, growing multi-state defense litigation firm is seeking a motivated Senior Insurance Defense attorney with a genuine passion for helping younger attorneys and litigation experience to join our Oklahoma City office. We specialize in complex insurance defense matters across a variety of practice areas including construction law, healthcare liability, oil and gas, product liability, trucking/transportation, catastrophic injury, construction defect, premises liability, and insurance coverage.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice law in Oklahoma
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, demanding environment
  • Takes pride in attention to detail and willingness to adhere to established standard operating procedures
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Critical thinking abilities with capacity to provide substantive legal analysis
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Trial experience not required but heavily preferred for this insurance defense attorney position

Responsibilities

As an insurance defense attorney with our firm, you will handle:

  • Comprehensive case management from initiation through resolution
  • Written discovery, including drafting and responding to interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission
  • Taking and defending depositions
  • Motion practice and legal research
  • Mediation and settlement negotiations
  • Hearing and trial attendance
  • Evaluate case strengths, weaknesses, settlement potential, and verdict exposure
  • Provide up-to-the-minute reporting, analysis, and recommendations in accordance with strict client guidelines
  • Mentoring younger attorneys

Our insurance defense attorneys work directly with national insurance carriers and self-insured entities, requiring excellent communication skills and the ability to meet demanding reporting standards.
