Accounting Manager
Location: Just outside Nashville, TN
Type: Full-Time | 100% In-Office
About the Company
A well-established and growing civil construction company located just outside of Nashville is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join its leadership team. This role will play a critical part in overseeing day-to-day accounting operations while supporting the company through the implementation and ongoing use of its ERP system.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations, with direct management of Accounts Payable staff
- Review and manage job costing, cost codes, and project-related financials
- Perform and oversee account reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting
- Support and optimize the company’s ERP system (Viewpoint Vista)
- Partner with project managers and operations to ensure accurate cost tracking
- Assist with process improvements, internal controls, and system efficiencies
- Support audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards
ERP & Systems Experience
- Strong experience working within an ERP system is required
- Viewpoint Vista experience is highly preferred, but not required
- Training will be provided for candidates with strong ERP backgrounds
- Ability to lead through system implementation, adoption, or optimization
Qualifications
- 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction or civil construction
- Proven experience with job costing and reconciliations
- Prior experience supervising or mentoring accounting/AP staff
- Strong understanding of construction accounting principles
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Comfortable working in a 100% in-office environment
