Job Title: Litigation Paralegal
Location: Lexington, Kentucky
Job Type: Full-Time
About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Litigation Paralegal. This position requires a detail-oriented professional who can support attorneys in all aspects of litigation, from pre-trial preparation to post-trial tasks. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, a strong understanding of legal processes, and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including drafting legal documents, motions, and pleadings.
- Attend trial with the attorney, sometimes requiring over night stays.
- Arrange for travel for expert witness, cordinate availability and dates.
- Manage case files and maintain case documentation.
- Conduct legal research and summarize findings for use in litigation matters.
- Draft and prepare discovery requests, responses, and deposition summaries.
- Coordinate the filing of legal documents with courts and other entities.
- Schedule hearings, depositions, and meetings for attorneys and clients.
- Organize and maintain client files, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible.
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, and experts as needed.
- Provide general administrative support to attorneys and legal staff.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience, preferably in personal injury, professional liability, medical malpractice and other civil litigaiton defense.
- Proficiency with case management software and Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint
- Strong knowledge of Kentucky court rules and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with e-filing systems and case management tools is a plus.
