Job Summary:
The General Ledger (GL) Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate and complete general ledger accounts. This role ensures all financial records are prepared in accordance with GAAP, supports month-end and year-end close processes, and assists with audits, financial reporting, and reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities:
· Prepare and post journal entries ensuring accuracy and completeness.
· Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
· Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
· Perform bank and account reconciliations, including intercompany reconciliations.
· Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports.
· Analyze financial data and identify trends and anomalies within the financial data to the Controller.
· Collaborate with internal departments to ensure proper accounting for business transactions.
· Assist with external and internal audits by preparing the required documentation and schedules.
· Identify and recommend improvements to accounting systems and processes.
· Active participant in the transition to a new ERP system including assistance in optimization after going live.
· Any other duties assigned by the Controller.
Qualifications:
· Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
· Experience:
o 2–4 years of general ledger accounting or related experience
o Strong understanding of GAAP.
o Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferable
· Preferred Skills:
o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
o Excellent oral and written communication skills.
o Proficient in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Epicor, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics) and Microsoft Office Suite. Epicor experience is highly preferred.
o Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy.
o Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
o Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
o Familiarity with financial analysis and budgeting.
o Self-starter with a focus on continuous improvement.
Working Conditions:
· Typically office-based with minimal travel to Randolph location if needed
· Day shift: 8 hour shift
