Position Overview
We are seeking a Yard Manager to oversee daily operations at our Chicago Heights facility. This leadership role is responsible for managing yard staff, coordinating equipment usage, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining efficient material flow.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and schedule yard employees to maximize productivity
Oversee loading, unloading, and processing of scrap materials
Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies
Manage heavy equipment operations (loaders, cranes, forklifts)
Monitor inventory and coordinate with sales/dispatch teams
Train and mentor staff to build a strong, reliable workforce
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in yard operations, recycling, or related industry
Prior leadership or supervisory experience required
Strong knowledge of heavy equipment and safety protocols
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, outdoor environment
