Job Title: Oil & Gas Attorney
Location: San Antonio, TX
Compensation: $200,000 – $300,000 base (DOE) + performance-based bonuses ($50,000 – $100,000 typical range)
A highly respected, nationally recognized law firm in the energy sector is seeking an experienced Oil & Gas Attorney with 10+ years of practice to join its San Antonio office. The firm is open to attorneys at the Of Counsel or Partner level and welcomes candidates considering relocation for the right opportunity. For the right Oil & Gas Attorney, the firm is prepared to contribute toward relocation expenses.
This is an exceptional opportunity for an Oil & Gas Attorney who thrives on handling sophisticated energy disputes at the highest level. The position calls for an attorney with proven trial experience—including substantial 1st chair work—and a strong background in arbitration, litigation, and dispute resolution involving oil and gas operations. A portable book of business is not required, though it will be welcomed.
Qualifications & Responsibilities
10+ years of proven experience as an Oil & Gas Attorney, focusing on litigation and disputes within the energy sector.
Extensive first-chair trial experience, including jury trials, bench trials, and arbitrations.
Background representing clients in complex oil and gas matters such as royalty litigation, lease disputes, joint operating agreements, and upstream/midstream contract disputes.
Ability to independently manage cases from intake through trial or resolution.
Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.
Licensed and in good standing with the Texas Bar (or eligible for immediate waiver/admission).
