Job Title: Structural Engineer (PE)

A leading structural steel organization is seeking a licensed Structural Engineer with a current Ohio Professional Engineer (PE) license—or the ability to obtain one quickly. This role is ideal for an engineer with experience in structural steel design, fabrication, or construction who is looking to contribute to high-impact projects while enjoying the flexibility of a hybrid work setting.
This is a key technical position that supports project engineering, steel connection design, detailing review, and field coordination. Candidates should have a strong understanding of steel structures and construction processes.
Perform structural analysis and design of steel-framed buildings and components in accordance with applicable codes (IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, etc.)
Develop and review engineering calculations, connection designs, and construction drawings
Collaborate with internal teams including fabrication, detailing, and project management to ensure practical, cost-effective solutions
Provide engineering support during fabrication and erection phases
Respond to RFIs, support design clarifications, and coordinate with clients, contractors, and consultants
Sign/seal structural drawings and calculations as needed (must be licensed in OH)
Conduct occasional site visits or inspections when required
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred)
Active Ohio PE license, or the ability to obtain it in a short timeframe (required)
3–7+ years of experience in structural design, preferably with steel structures
Proficiency in structural engineering software (e.g., RISA, STAAD, RAM, or similar)
Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, and Tekla (or similar detailing platforms)
Excellent communication, coordination, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Experience working with structural steel fabricators or erectors
Knowledge of connection design and shop/fabrication detailing
Familiarity with AWS D1.1, AISC 360, and standard steel erection practices
Experience in industrial, commercial, or heavy structural steel projects
