Labor & Employment Attorney

A highly respected boutique law firm is seeking a talented Labor & Employment Attorney with 3+ years of experience to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who enjoys sophisticated employer-side work, direct client interaction, and a collaborative boutique environment.
The attorney will primarily focus on labor and employment advice and counseling, working closely with sophisticated employers on a range of workplace matters. The role includes light litigation, but is primarily counseling-focused.
What You’ll Do
- Advise and counsel employers on day-to-day labor and employment matters
- Provide guidance regarding employment policies, workplace issues, wage & hour matters, leaves, accommodations, and employee relations
- Assist sophisticated clients with proactive risk management and compliance
- Support clients through employment disputes and occasional litigation matters
- Draft and review employment-related agreements, policies, and communications
- Conduct legal research and provide practical, business-focused advice
- Develop strong, trusted relationships with sophisticated clients
Ideal Candidate
- 3+ years of labor & employment experience (candidate's with less labor and employment experience are encouraged to apply)
- Strong employer-side advice and counseling background
- California Bar admission required
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Comfortable communicating directly with sophisticated clients
- Practical, business-minded approach to employment law
- Litigation experience is helpful, but heavy litigation experience is not required
- Someone who knows what they want to do with their career and is excited about this type of work
