As they continue to grow, they are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Commercial Exterior Wall Panel Estimator to join our team.
Position Summary
The Commercial Exterior Wall Panel Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial exterior wall panel systems. This role requires strong analytical skills, construction knowledge, and the ability to review plans, specifications, and project requirements to develop complete project budgets and proposals. The estimator will work closely with project managers, vendors, general contractors, architects, and ownership to help secure profitable projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project drawings, specifications, addenda, and bid documents.
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for metal wall panels, insulated metal panels (IMP), ACM panels, fiber cement systems, rainscreen assemblies, and related exterior cladding systems.
- Solicit and evaluate pricing from suppliers, manufacturers, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Prepare comprehensive cost estimates, bid proposals, and project budgets.
- Analyze labor, material, equipment, freight, and installation costs.
- Identify project risks, scope gaps, exclusions, and value engineering opportunities.
- Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project walkthroughs as needed.
- Coordinate with operations and project management teams during project handoff.
- Maintain estimating databases, historical cost information, and bid tracking records.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, architects, consultants, and manufacturers.
- Assist with contract review and scope clarification during negotiation phases.
- Stay current on industry trends, products, installation methods, and market pricing.
QualificationsRequired
- 3+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction, exterior cladding, wall panel systems, roofing, or building envelope trades.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction documents and specifications.
- Experience performing quantity takeoffs and preparing detailed estimates.
- Proficiency with estimating software, Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and digital takeoff platforms.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel occasionally within Colorado.
Preferred
- Experience with insulated metal panels (IMP), metal composite material (ACM) panels, single-skin metal panels, rainscreen systems, or curtain wall-related assemblies.
- Knowledge of commercial roofing and building envelope systems.
- Experience with The EDGE, OST, Planswift, or similar estimating software.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
