A growing, employee-owned organization supporting the mechanical construction industry is seeking an experienced Low Voltage Controls Trade Partnership Manager to join its Preconstruction team.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in building automation, controls, mechanical or electrical contracting, preconstruction, or subcontractor/vendor management.

This position will focus on identifying, evaluating, and developing relationships with low-voltage controls and Building Automation System (BAS) trade partners while working closely with preconstruction and operations teams.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and recruit qualified low-voltage controls/BAS subcontractors.
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with controls trade partners.
  • Evaluate subcontractor technical capabilities, geographic coverage, workforce, backlog, and project experience.
  • Maintain accurate trade partner and subcontractor information.
  • Communicate project requirements, scopes, and expectations to controls partners.
  • Participate in scope reviews, partner selection, and project pursuit strategies.
  • Track subcontractor workload and capacity.
  • Monitor partner performance related to quality, schedule, manpower, and communication.
  • Conduct site visits and in-person partner meetings as needed.
  • Work closely with preconstruction and operations teams.
  • Stay current on BAS/controls technology, industry trends, and labor conditions.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Strong knowledge of low-voltage controls and Building Automation Systems (BAS).
  • Experience in controls, mechanical/electrical contracting, construction management, preconstruction, or subcontractor management.
  • Experience working with contractors, engineers, owners, project executives, and operations teams.
  • Knowledge of construction procurement and subcontractor management.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Ability to evaluate subcontractor capabilities and performance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database/reporting tools.
  • Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud, BuildingConnected, or similar platforms is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred. Relevant industry experience will also be considered.
