We are seeking a Junior Litigation Attorney to join a growing and respected Massachusetts law firm. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney with 1–3 years of litigation experience who is looking to build a sophisticated practice representing business owners, closely held businesses, fiduciaries, and individuals in complex disputes.
The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience handling business litigation matters as well as fiduciary and probate litigation cases, including will contests, trust disputes, and asset-related conflicts. The firm offers mentorship, professional development, and meaningful courtroom exposure.
Responsibilities
- Represent business owners and closely held businesses in a variety of commercial and business litigation matters.
- Assist with all phases of litigation, including case strategy, discovery, motion practice, depositions, mediation, and trial preparation.
- Handle fiduciary and probate litigation matters, including:
- Will contests
- Trust disputes
- Breach of fiduciary duty claims
- Estate and inheritance disputes
- Asset ownership and distribution conflicts
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and correspondence.
- Participate in client meetings, court appearances, hearings, and settlement negotiations.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop litigation strategies and achieve favorable client outcomes.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in Massachusetts and in good standing.
- 1–3 years of litigation experience preferred.
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and client-relations abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.
- Interest in business litigation and fiduciary/probate disputes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with civil litigation, commercial litigation, or probate litigation.
- Familiarity with Massachusetts Probate and Family Court procedures.
- Experience drafting motions, conducting discovery, and participating in court proceedings.
- Desire to develop a long-term litigation practice representing business owners and fiduciaries.
