Job Description

We are seeking a Junior Litigation Attorney to join a growing and respected Massachusetts law firm. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney with 1–3 years of litigation experience who is looking to build a sophisticated practice representing business owners, closely held businesses, fiduciaries, and individuals in complex disputes.

The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience handling business litigation matters as well as fiduciary and probate litigation cases, including will contests, trust disputes, and asset-related conflicts. The firm offers mentorship, professional development, and meaningful courtroom exposure.

Responsibilities

  • Represent business owners and closely held businesses in a variety of commercial and business litigation matters.
  • Assist with all phases of litigation, including case strategy, discovery, motion practice, depositions, mediation, and trial preparation.
  • Handle fiduciary and probate litigation matters, including:
    • Will contests
    • Trust disputes
    • Breach of fiduciary duty claims
    • Estate and inheritance disputes
    • Asset ownership and distribution conflicts
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and correspondence.
  • Participate in client meetings, court appearances, hearings, and settlement negotiations.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop litigation strategies and achieve favorable client outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Massachusetts and in good standing.
  • 1–3 years of litigation experience preferred.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and client-relations abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interest in business litigation and fiduciary/probate disputes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with civil litigation, commercial litigation, or probate litigation.
  • Familiarity with Massachusetts Probate and Family Court procedures.
  • Experience drafting motions, conducting discovery, and participating in court proceedings.
  • Desire to develop a long-term litigation practice representing business owners and fiduciaries.
