Instrumentation & Controls Technician

Day Shift | Monday–Friday | $40-$45/hour

gpac is partnering with a growing industrial manufacturing company seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Controls Technician to join their maintenance and reliability team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on controls professional who enjoys troubleshooting and repairing automated equipment, instrumentation, and control systems in a production environment. This role is highly visible within the operation and offers the chance to work with advanced automation technology while making a direct impact on plant performance and equipment reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain PLC-controlled production equipment

  • Support and maintain Allen Bradley PLC systems and associated controls

  • Diagnose electrical, instrumentation, and automation-related issues

  • Work with HMI systems, touchscreen interfaces, and industrial networking components

  • Calibrate and troubleshoot pressure transmitters, level transmitters, flow devices, and related instrumentation

  • Support preventive maintenance and reliability initiatives

  • Respond to equipment issues and minimize operational downtime

  • Partner closely with maintenance and operations teams to improve overall equipment performance

  • Assist with continuous improvement projects related to controls and automation systems

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of industrial controls, instrumentation, or automation experience preferred

  • Strong Allen Bradley PLC troubleshooting experience required

  • Experience with Automation Direct systems is a plus

  • Knowledge of industrial networking and HMI platforms

  • Experience with instrumentation including:

    • 4-20mA control loops

    • Pressure transmitters

    • Level transmitters

    • Process instrumentation systems

  • Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

  • Hands-on maintenance and controls experience required
