Heavy Civil Project Manager
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Project Manager to lead construction projects from preconstruction through completion. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience managing heavy civil construction projects, with a background in infrastructure-related work.
Experience with transportation/infrastructure projects, pile driving or marine construction, horizontal heavy civil, site development, utilities, earthwork, or similar scopes will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Manage heavy civil construction projects from start to finish
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and costs
- Coordinate with owners, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel
- Review plans, specifications, contracts, and project requirements
- Manage project documentation, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and pay applications
- Monitor project progress and ensure work stays on schedule and within budget
- Work closely with superintendents and field crews to coordinate daily operations
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders
- Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to contract requirements
- Identify and resolve project issues as they arise
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience managing heavy civil construction projects
- Experience with infrastructure-related construction preferred
- Background in transportation, highway/bridge, pile driving/marine, sitework, utilities, earthwork, or other heavy civil construction
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Strong understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, and cost control
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with field teams
- Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related degree preferred but not required
