Job Title: Medical Malpractice Defense Attorney
Location: Cincinnati, OH
Compensation: $115,000+ DOE + Formula-Based Bonus Structure
About the Role
A dynamic mid-sized litigation firm is seeking a Medical Malpractice Defense Attorney with 3 to 5+ years of experience to join its Cincinnati office. Medical malpractice accounts for nearly 50% of the firm's business, making this a pivotal position within a core practice area.
This role is designed for litigators currently stuck in brief-writing roles at larger firms who want immediate hands-on courtroom, deposition, and trial experience, along with a clear path to partnership.
Key Responsibilities
Manage medical malpractice defense cases from intake through trial.
Conduct depositions, draft substantive motions, and represent clients directly in court.
Work closely with senior trial attorneys on complex medical litigation.
Maintain an attainable billable goal of 1,800 hours per year.
Qualifications & Requirements
3 to 5+ years of defense experience in medical malpractice, personal injury, or insurance defense (defense side required).
Strong courtroom presence, writing skills, and advocacy capabilities.
Active Ohio state bar license in good standing.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: Starting at $115,000+ depending on experience.
Bonus Structure: Formula-based cash bonus plus a percentage of brought-in business.
