Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Tech professional to support the efficient operation and upkeep of a manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for maintaining production equipment, performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and helping ensure a safe, clean, and well-organized work environment.

The Maintenance Tech will work closely with operations, engineering, manufacturing, and maintenance leadership to identify and resolve equipment issues efficiently and help maintain reliable production processes.

Essential Functions

  • Ensure all applicable safety standards and procedures are followed.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, neat, and clean work environment.
  • Perform plant maintenance and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot, identify, and resolve issues involving production equipment, machinery, and tooling.
  • Maintain appropriate spare parts and supplies for equipment.
  • Provide maintenance support to Engineering and Manufacturing during daily plant operations.
  • Respond to maintenance issues and complete repairs in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Help ensure safe and reliable operation of equipment throughout the facility.
  • Identify faulty or failing components and recommend or initiate appropriate repairs, replacements, or modifications.
  • Maintain machine cleanliness and proper working condition.
  • Work independently and take responsibility for maintenance activities during assigned shifts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to diagnosing equipment issues.
  • Working knowledge of metal stamping and forming equipment.
  • General knowledge of the steel and metal manufacturing industry.
  • Understanding of industrial mechanics and mechanical maintenance.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems and components.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting industrial electrical circuits.
  • Ability to read mechanical prints, blueprints, schematics, and equipment drawings.
  • Ability to work comfortably around industrial equipment and at heights when required.
  • Ability to weld and safely use torches and plasma cutting equipment.
  • Knowledge of lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Experience with parts washers and skimmers is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work in an organized and timely manner.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and willing to take initiative.
  • Strong mathematical, reasoning, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability and willingness to pursue additional training or education to develop technical expertise.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or college education is preferred.

Technical Experience

Candidates with experience in the following areas are highly preferred:

  • Industrial machinery maintenance
  • Preventative maintenance programs
  • Mechanical troubleshooting
  • Hydraulic systems
  • Industrial electrical systems
  • Electrical circuit troubleshooting
  • Metal stamping and forming equipment
  • Steel or metal manufacturing
  • Welding and fabrication
  • Torch and plasma cutting
  • Mechanical print and blueprint reading
  • Equipment repair and component replacement
  • Lockout/tagout procedures

Work Environment

This is a hands-on manufacturing maintenance position that requires working around industrial machinery and production equipment. The position may require standing, walking, climbing, working at heights, and working with mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and metalworking equipment while following all applicable safety procedures.
