Position Overview:
The Civil Design Engineer will support the planning, design, and execution of civil engineering projects from concept through construction. This individual will work closely with project managers, engineers, municipalities, and clients while contributing to technical design, permitting, and project coordination efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop site layout, grading, drainage, utility, and roadway designs utilizing Civil 3D and related software
- Prepare construction drawings, design plans, technical reports, and specifications
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic calculations, stormwater management analysis, and permitting support
- Coordinate with internal teams, outside consultants, municipalities, and review agencies
- Assist with project scheduling, cost estimates, and documentation
- Review municipal and county ordinances for design compliance
- Ensure projects comply with applicable local, state, and federal regulations
- Support projects throughout the design and construction process
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- 3–6 years of civil/site design experience preferred
- Experience with land development, stormwater, permitting, or public infrastructure projects
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong understanding of civil engineering design principles, codes, and standards
- Effective communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- EIT certification preferred
- Experience working with municipalities or public agencies
- Familiarity with StormCAD, HydroCAD, or related software
- Understanding of local/state permitting processes and NPDES/E&S requirements
