Quality Control Manager

(Fabrication and Machine Shop)

Structural Fabricator and Machine Shop in Southern Indiana is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector to be Quality Control Manager!

Quality Control Manager Summary:
This position is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and maintaining the Quality Plan and managing QA/QC functions and technical support staff.

Quality Control Manager Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Lead quality inspections of fabricated products onsite and at subcontractor locations.
  • Manage the quality team and quality management system.
  • Set and monitor quality standards based on project specs and fabrication processes.
  • Ensure compliance with contract plans and specifications.
  • Prepare quality and progress reports; maintain inspection and testing records.
  • Monitor quality practices for effectiveness, cost, and productivity.
  • Provide expertise during bidding, construction, and post-construction phases.
  • Identify non-conformities, investigate root causes, and ensure corrective actions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Develop and deliver training on quality standards and procedures.
  • Travel as needed for site visits, meetings, and training.

Quality Control Manager Skills and Abilities:

  • Problem solving and decision-making skills; attention to detail a must.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; including effective listening skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel, and Procore.

Quality Control Manager Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or related field required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Quality Manager required.
  • AWS D1.5/D1.5M experience, working for USACE or similar projects preferred.
  • Extensive Knowledge and expertise in nondestructive testing (NDT) required.
  • American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).

 

Compensation depends on experience and can be negotiated following initial interview but includes:

  • Base Salary of +$100,000
  • Bonus Incentive Opportunity of +10%
  • Benefit Package with great coverage and low premiums
