Job Description

An large specialty crop operation in the Northwest region of Pennsylvania is looking to add a hands-on agronomist to their team to help support field operations, crop planning, and sustainable production practices. Entry-Level Agronomists encouraged to apply!!! 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the development and execution of organic cropping plans, including potatoes and other specialty crops

  • Provide daily agronomic support during planting, cultivation, scouting, fertility, and harvest phases

  • Collect and interpret soil and tissue sample data; make nutrient recommendations based on findings

  • Support integrated pest management strategies aligned with organic certification standards

  • Maintain and troubleshoot farm equipment and machinery; coordinate basic repairs

  • Communicate agronomic updates and recommendations with team members and management

  • Contribute to field trials, data collection, and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Horticulture, or related field OR equivalent hands-on experience in production agriculture

  • Demonstrated interest in organic farming and specialty crop production (potato experience is a plus)

  • Mechanical aptitude; experience operating and maintaining farm equipment

  • Strong observational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a collaborative team environment

Preferred Attributes:

  • Prior experience in organic systems, especially potato production

  • Experience with field scouting, crop planning, and harvest operations

  • Background in basic mechanical repair and equipment maintenance
