Project Engineer
Salary Range: $90,000 – $105,000 annually

The Project Engineer is responsible for supporting the successful execution of construction projects by managing administrative, contractual, financial, and technical tasks. This role reports directly to the Project Manager and/or Superintendent and plays a key role in day-to-day project operations.

Primary Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the Project Manager and Superintendent in all aspects of project management, including cost control, material procurement, quantity take-offs, scheduling, and safety compliance

  • Assist in conducting peer constructability reviews of design documents

  • Help develop, update, and maintain the project schedule under supervision

  • Assist with project budgeting, cost estimates, cost coding, and preparing cash flow projections

  • Analyze and process changes to contract documents, including Owner Change Order Requests (CORs) and Subcontractor Change Orders (SCOs)

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to review updated cost reports and help determine final project costs

  • Participate in monthly job reviews and financial meetings

  • Aid in evaluating subcontractor bids and preparing bid analysis summaries

  • Assist with creating subcontractor Schedule of Values and help prepare monthly owner billing statements in coordination with the Project Manager and Superintendent

  • Perform additional duties as needed

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Project Engineer in the commercial construction industry

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, project management software (e.g., Viewpoint), and scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera)

  • Strong understanding of construction processes including safety, scheduling, estimating, budgeting, and procurement

  • Capable of analyzing data and interpreting technical documentation

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Highly organized with strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead and work collaboratively

  • Demonstrated ability to manage tasks from project development through closeout

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to perform physical duties such as repetitive hand motions, walking and standing on uneven jobsite terrain, climbing stairs and ladders, and sitting or standing for extended periods

  • Regular use of computers and other standard office equipment is required
