Chief Financial Officer– Private Equity

Location: Rome, New York Salary: $180,000 – $230,000 Experience: 10–15 years in private equity, with strong M&A expertise

About the Opportunity: Our client, a growing company based in Rome, NY, is seeking a seasoned Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with a strong private equity background and proven experience in company mergers and acquisitions. This is a pivotal leadership role that will influence strategic direction, financial performance, and long-term growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all financial functions including strategy, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting
  • Guide M&A strategy and execution alongside private equity partners
  • Support the CEO and Board in driving strategic initiatives
  • Ensure compliance, risk management, and financial stewardship across the organization
  • Champion succession planning and leadership development within the finance team
  • Collaborate closely with existing leadership while respecting current org structures

Who You Are:

  • A strategic finance leader with 10–15 years of experience in private equity-backed businesses
  • Deeply knowledgeable in M&A, capital structure, and long-term financial planning
  • Strong communicator with the emotional intelligence to fit into a values-driven culture
  • Not looking to make sweeping changes overnight—you believe in evolution, not revolution
  • Committed to building and mentoring a team, and planning for future leadership transitions
