Position Summary We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Route Manager to lead daily collection operations for our Alabama market. The Route Manager serves as the key link between drivers, operations leadership, customer service, and clients—ensuring routes run safely, efficiently, and with a strong commitment to service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and mentor route drivers to achieve operational, safety, and customer service goals.
Oversee daily routing, dispatch, and schedule adherence for residential, commercial, and roll-off collection services.
Conduct regular safety observations, ride-alongs, and performance evaluations.
Respond to service issues quickly and professionally, maintaining strong communication with customers and internal teams.
Monitor productivity, equipment use, and compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards.
Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training of drivers to build a strong operational team.
Collaborate with sales, maintenance, and customer service teams to ensure seamless operations.
Prepare reports on route performance, driver productivity, and safety compliance for operations leadership.
Promote a culture of safety and accountability—getting your team home safely every day.
Qualifications
3+ years of supervisory or management experience in waste collection, transportation, or logistics.
Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and industry safety regulations.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse workforce.
Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.
Proficiency in routing systems, dispatch software, and basic computer applications.
CDL preferred but not required; ability to ride along and evaluate driver performance is essential.
