Job Description

Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled Fermentation Operator to join the production team. You will play a critical role in our beverage manufacturing process by overseeing microbial conversion, monitoring vessel parameters, and ensuring the consistent quality of our fermented products. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, adherence to strict sanitation protocols, and a commitment to food safety.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Process Monitoring: Operate and monitor fermentation vessels, controlling critical parameters such as temperature, pH, aeration, and nutrient levels to optimize microbial growth and product yield.
  • Sanitation & Sterility: Execute Clean-in-Place (CIP) and Steam-in-Place (SIP) procedures on tanks and equipment to maintain a sterile, contamination-free environment.
  • Media Preparation: Accurately weigh and mix raw ingredients to prepare fermentation media according to specific batch recipes.
  • Quality Control: Collect and analyze samples at designated intervals; perform routine testing (e.g., gravity, cell counts) and document all data in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve process deviations or equipment malfunctions in collaboration with maintenance and quality teams.
 
Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. An Associate’s degree or certification in Brewing Science, Food Science, or Biotechnology is preferred.
  • Experience: 1–3 years of experience in fermentation, brewing, or food/beverage manufacturing.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP standards.
    • Proficiency in operating industrial bioreactors or large-scale fermentation tanks.
    • Familiarity with laboratory sampling and analytical testing.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment that may include weekends or evening shifts
