Traveling Quality Inspector – Mechanical Construction

📍 Various U.S. Locations | Full-Time

Overview

We’re hiring a Traveling Quality Inspector to ensure top-quality fabrication and installation on mechanical projects nationwide. Ideal candidates have 3+ years of experience, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills for team and partner collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Review project drawings and technical specifications for compliance

  • Develop and manage QA/QC plans and documentation

  • Lead pre-installation meetings and weekly quality reviews

  • Conduct on-site inspections and testing (welds, bolts, pressure tests)

  • Oversee third-party evaluations and enforce corrective actions

  • Maintain inspection records, certifications, and quality reports

  • Coordinate sampling/testing schedules and support project closeout

Qualifications

  • 3+ years' experience in mechanical quality inspection (HVAC, piping, plumbing, sheet metal)

  • Weld inspection certification preferred (CWI, VT-Level II, API, etc.)

  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs., climb ladders, and perform physical tasks safely

  • Expertise in interpreting drawings, specifications, and test results

  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills

  • Willingness to travel to job sites and fabrication shops as needed

Schedule & Travel

  • 6-day work week, 10-hour shifts

  • Onsite for project duration

  • Home travel every 3–4 weeks for 2–3 days
