Job Description

We are partnered with a reputable and growing Civil Engineering firm seeking an experienced Bridge Structural Group Manager to lead and grow their bridge design practice in St. Louis, Missouri. This role combines technical leadership, project oversight, and team management, supporting the delivery of high-quality bridge and transportation structures for public and private clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage bridge structural design projects from concept through construction

  • Oversee technical quality, schedules, and budgets for bridge projects

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and designers

  • Serve as Engineer of Record on bridge projects as required

  • Coordinate with clients, agencies, and multidisciplinary teams

  • Support business development efforts, including proposals and client relationships

  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and agency requirements (e.g., MoDOT, AASHTO)

Required Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Missouri (required)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred)

  • 10+ years of bridge structural design experience

  • Proven experience designing county and state bridges

  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and projects

  • Strong knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and relevant software tools

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with MoDOT or similar state DOTs

  • Experience managing a structural or bridge design group

  • Interest in mentoring and developing junior engineers
