Job Snapshot

Job Description

We are looking for a dermatologist willing to work in Colorado Springs and be willing to travel ( not to frequent) to underserved markets for example Pueblo. experienced Physician Assistant or NP with Derma experience is welcome as well.

A growing, physician-led medical group with a mission to care for patients, community, and world. We are physician owned with 8 locations, 2 satellites, ~150 employees, and expanding operations – including a dermatology/plastic surgery/aesthetic services medical practice, an ambulatory surgery center in development, a real estate portfolio, and retail skincare business.

We believe that physicians should remain in leadership, so we are not seeking private equity investors. We believe our purpose should remain patient focused, not profit focused. Our physicians have the autonomy to exercise their medical judgment and to build the type of practice they desire within the scope of their training. We are actively recruiting for a board certified or board eligible dermatologist who sees medicine as a calling and will help us build a thriving, mission-driven medical practice.

Our goal is to maximize a physician’s time spent on the most valuable tasks. We staff heavily and streamline our processes to increase practice efficiency, to reduce physician administrative burden, and to provide excellent patient care. Our standard template is 18 office visit patients per 4-hour clinic (Excisions adjusted for 1.5 to 2 per hour). Most of our providers see more patients than this while running on time, after their initial ramp up period. We encourage a gradual ramp up so that our doctors can develop a strong process and reputation for delivering quality care. Most doctors work with two MAs out of 2-3 rooms. Doctors who see higher volume may add a third MA. Our support team is competitively compensated, and we maintain high staffing ratios relative to most dermatology and plastic surgery practices.

Our standard schedule template is 34 to 38 clinic hours. If a doctor would like to work outside our standard business hours, we can discuss options. We exclude breaks, administrative time, and meetings from “clinic hours.” A physician may work less hours, and base pay would be prorated accordingly.

Productivity bonus: Bonus year for compensation is November 1 to October 31. Productivity bonus is calculated at the end of a bonus year and paid within 45 days of year end. The productivity bonus is based on net collections and physician allocated expenses. Almost all physicians attain productivity bonus in their first full bonus year. Including bonus, most general dermatologists’ compensation falls within $400,000 to $600,000 per bonus year prior to partnership.

Eligible physicians are first considered for partnership after 3 full bonus years. Partnership is not required; physicians may remain as employed associates. We strive to be a medical practice where physicians can have autonomy to practice medicine in a way they feel proud, work in a supportive environment, and have the opportunity to lead and develop others.
