Maintenance Superintendent

Confidential Employer – Food Manufacturing Southern Minnesota | Full-Time | 2nd Shift Leadership Role

gpac has partnered with a well-established food manufacturing organization to identify an experienced Maintenance Superintendent to lead second-shift maintenance operations at a high-volume, regulated facility. This is a hands-on leadership role for a maintenance professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and values safety, reliability, and team development.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and support second-shift maintenance supervisors and technicians

  • Drive preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and improve reliability

  • Train and develop supervisors and hourly maintenance staff on procedures and safety

  • Oversee PM scheduling, work orders, and equipment readiness prior to production

  • Ensure compliance with USDA, SQF, HACCP, and internal safety standards

  • Utilize CMMS for tracking maintenance activity, reporting, and continuous improvement

  • Partner with HR on employee relations, performance management, and training

  • Conduct routine safety and maintenance meetings with documentation

  • Perform hands-on maintenance work as needed

What We’re Looking For

  • 8+ years of maintenance management experience in manufacturing

  • 5+ years of supervisory experience (experience managing supervisors preferred)

  • Background in USDA-regulated environments

  • Working knowledge of SQF and HACCP standards

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

  • Comfortable being hands-on when needed

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and CMMS systems

  • Meat or protein industry experience (poultry, beef, pork) a plus

  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
