Associate Attorney – Insurance Coverage - Multiple Locations (CA)

A respected mid-sized firm is seeking an experienced attorney to join its busy Insurance Coverage Practice Group. This opportunity is available in Los Angeles, Orange County, Ventura County, or San Diego, with hybrid flexibility offered. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in insurance coverage, with a focus on writing coverage opinions and litigating disputes across various policy types, including CGL, D&O, advertising injury, professional liability, first-party property, and workers’ compensation. This position offers high-level responsibility, including direct client interaction, motion practice, depositions, and potential trial participation, all within a collaborative and collegial environment. This is a great opportunity for a driven insurance coverage attorney to take on meaningful work in a supportive, high-performing practice group.

Responsibilities:

  • Drafting coverage opinions and analyzing diverse policy forms
  • Litigating insurance coverage disputes in state and federal court
  • Arguing motions, taking/defending depositions, and participating in hearings or trial
  • Collaborating with team members across offices
  • Communicating directly with clients, carriers, and co-counsel

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of insurance coverage experience required
  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active member in good standing with the California Bar
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Excellent writing and oral advocacy abilities
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and a team player
  • Prior litigation experience preferred

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base salary: $165K–$220K DOE
  • Year-end discretionary bonus eligibility
  • Full benefits package
