Position Summary:
The Loan Operations Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing and maintenance of the Bank’s loan portfolio. This role ensures that all loan transactions are properly booked, reviewed, documented, and reported in accordance with internal procedures and regulatory guidelines. The position involves collaboration with loan officers, credit and collateral teams, and other departments to support the full life cycle of loan operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately book new loans, renewals, modifications, letters of credit, and guidance lines of credit into the loan system

  • Process and book new SBA loans and handle related reporting, including 1502 reporting to the FTA

  • Perform post-closing reviews to ensure documentation and system data integrity

  • Scan, image, and maintain loan files and supporting documentation

  • Post loan payments, draws, and principal reductions

  • Audit and edit loan entries for completeness and accuracy

  • Manage participation loan processing (both purchased and sold)

  • Clear unposted loan transactions and resolve processing exceptions

  • Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding loan accounts

  • Balance loan general ledger clearing accounts and resolve discrepancies

  • Coordinate the recording and release of lien documents as required

  • Maintain exception tracking and generate reports for follow-up and compliance

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in loan operations or a banking/financial institution environment preferred

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle high volumes of data entry accurately

  • Familiarity with SBA loan processes and regulatory reporting requirements a plus

  • Proficiency in loan management systems and Microsoft Office applications

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a deadline-driven environment
