Portfolio Manager Team Lead – Commercial Banking
Location: Holland, MI (onsite; workspace available in Grand Rapids)
Employment Type: Full-time | In-market candidates only
Compensation: $117K–$165K+ (up to $175K for top talent) + bonus + full benefits

A well-capitalized, relationship-focused financial institution is seeking a Portfolio Manager Team Lead to support and shape the next stage of its commercial credit team in West Michigan. This is a leadership-driven, non-producing role focused on portfolio performance, team development, and sound credit execution.

What You’ll Do:
• Lead and mentor an emerging team of Portfolio Managers and Analysts
• Personally manage a select set of complex commercial relationships (5–10 clients)
• Support relationship managers in structuring, underwriting, and renewing C&I credits
• Oversee credit analysis, annual reviews, risk ratings, covenant tracking, and loan modifications
• Present key credits, waivers, and recommendations to loan committee
• Partner closely with senior credit and lending leaders to maintain portfolio quality and consistency
• Serve as a subject-matter expert for C&I structures, deal terms, screening, and policy alignment

What You’ll Bring:
• 10+ years commercial banking experience with strong C&I credit background
• Proven ability to structure and manage mid-market loan relationships ($5MM–$50MM+)
• Experience mentoring or managing credit or portfolio teams
Formal commercial credit training is required
• Strong collaboration and communication skills; borrower-facing presence required
• Local to the West Michigan footprint (Holland, Grand Rapids, surrounding areas)
