Job Description

Our highly regarded Salt Lake City law firm is seeking an attorney with 6 + years of experience and specialized expertise in IP, technology law, and/or artificial intelligence (AI) laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will assist clients in navigating compliance challenges, risk management, product counseling, and policy development related to AI technologies across multiple jurisdictions globally.

 Responsibilities:

  • Help advise clients on AI-related laws, regulations, standards, and ethical guidelines, including the EU AI Act, U.S. AI laws, automated decision-making laws, and more.
  • Help draft, review, and negotiate contracts involving AI technologies and services.
  • Support clients in building internal AI governance policies and ethical use frameworks.
  • Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments related to AI.
  • Collaborate with data privacy and intellectual property attorneys.
  • Contribute to thought leadership, including articles, webinars, and client alerts.

 Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations as they relate to AI
  • Experience in IP law (particularly copyright or patent drafting for AI technologies)
  • Experience in privacy law
  • Background in computer science or engineering (Preferred)
  • Member of the Utah State Bar Association
